Father’s Plan? More Like Father’s Scam! Conor McGregor Slams Khabib Nurmagomedov Over NFT ‘Scam’ Claims

Conor McGregor slammed Khabib Nurmagomedov on X over a digital papakha NFT controversy, accusing him of scamming fans, while hinting at a UFC comeback in 2026 at the White House.

Khabib and McGregor constituted one of the most iconic rivalries in UFC history (X)

Ah well, it seems like Conor McGregor’s spiritual retreat lasted… well, briefly.

And guess what (or more accurately, who) broke his peace? None other than Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Even divine intervention could not fight back against the demons of his past, as the ever-so-hot-tempered Irishman returned to his previous form to slam his eternal rival at full force (at least virtually).

What was it that McGregor slammed Khabib?

After watching his protege, Islam Makachev, claim the welterweight title from Jack Della Maddalena, Khabib, who is now retired, took to X to share an update on his new venture: selling digital papakhas, the traditional headwear he made famous during his UFC career.

Shortly after, the former UFC champion deleted all posts related to the same, which left many puzzled and wondering whether it was all part of a hoax.

McGregor, who can never spare a chance to land a shot at Khabib, slammed the Dagestani on X for trying to ‘scam’ his fans.

“There is just no way good guy Khabib used his late father’s name, as well as Dagestan’s culture, to scam his fans and fire sell a bunch of digital NFTs online and then delete all of the content after they were sold, leaving fans robbed of their money.

And just for good measure, he made it personal.

“What a shame and a stain on his father’s name. Just wow! To scam fans using his father and his country’s culture is just so low,” the post read.

“Father’s plan has now become father’s scam. Very sad,” McGregor continued.

McGregor staring at a possible comeback in 2026

Although it seemed as though the Irishman would never step into the Octagon again after his brutal injury in 2021, it looks like he is gearing up for a comeback.

After finding out about the UFC’s plan to host an event at the White House in 2026, McGregor made it clear that he wants to compete at the event, and he even re-entered the testing pool to make his comeback possible.

With him attempting to stoke the fire with Khabib yet again, is it possible that he wants to aim at the Dagestani once again to exact his revenge?

Well, Khabib seems more than comfortable with his life after retirement, but who knows? Old habits die hard.
