Video | Karnataka CM Tussle Peaks: DKS Camp Lands In Delhi Ahead Of ‘Half-Term’ Deadline

A group of Karnataka Congress lawmakers – who have publicly backed DK Shivakumar in his ongoing power tussle with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah – has landed in Delhi a day before the rumoured power-sharing ‘agreement’ between the two leaders expires.

Officially, the lawmakers are on a business trip tied to work with the Department of Agriculture. However, the presence of several MLAs from the politically influential Vokkaliga community – to which Shivakumar belongs – has raised eyebrows.

Adding to the speculation is the timing: November 20 marks the halfway point of Siddaramaiah’s term.

According to the alleged ‘agreement’ brokered to end a post-election standoff over the Chief Minister’s post – a dispute that nearly derailed the Congress’ 2023 victory – Siddaramaiah was expected to step down at this stage, paving the way for DK Shivakumar to serve as Chief Minister for the remainder of the government’s term.
