Redemption! Conor Benn Routs Chris Eubank Jr In Tottenham Stadium Bout

The 29-year-old Benn produced a stunning show of his abilities as he dominated Eubank Jr for 12 rounds and exact revenge for his loss in the previous matchup.

Conor Benn dominated Chris Eubank Jr for 12 rounds in their middleweight clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, securing a unanimous decision victory and avenging his defeat in their first meeting in April.

In the previous fight, Benn lost with all three judges scoring it 116-112 in favour of Eubank Jr. However, there was no doubt about the winner this time as the 29-year-old delivered the most complete performance of his professional career over 36 minutes.

Similar to their first bout, Benn started strongly in the opening rounds, landing heavy blows under Eubank Jr’s jab. This time, however, Benn maintained his intensity throughout, while Eubank Jr struggled from the start.

Eubank Jr attempted to leverage his height and reach advantage midway through the third round, punishing Benn when he leaned forward. Nevertheless, Benn’s quick footwork allowed him to dart in and out without sustaining much damage.

Controlling the tempo, Benn forced Eubank Jr to clinch to avoid damage whenever his guard was breached. Noticing his opponent tiring, Benn ramped up the pressure in the seventh round with powerful body shots that further slowed Eubank Jr. Although Eubank Jr tried to retaliate, his usually potent jab lacked power until he managed some offense late in the eighth round.

That was the peak for Eubank Jr as Benn went all out in the final round, knocking his opponent down twice, with the bell saving Eubank Jr at the end of another epic clash between the two British boxers.

With their fathers having a heated rivalry in the 1990s, Benn secured his family’s first victory over the Eubanks and quickly dismissed the idea of a rematch.

“I feel like this is the end of the Benn-Eubank saga. Done. Finished. It’s over… this ends here,” he said, before addressing his critics and praising Eubank Jr. “Everyone’s saying, I can’t box? Put that in your pipe and smoke it… credit to Chris man, that’s all I say. Thank you for sharing the ring with me.”

Eubank Jr was gracious in defeat, making no excuses for his performance and acknowledging Benn as the better man.

“I’ve been through hell and back to get to this night, and it is what it is. I tried my best, and listen, the kid fought hard. He fought tough. He’s got power,” he said. “Who knows, maybe we will see something new between me and him and maybe we won’t, but for right now, it’s all about this man. It’s his night.”
