Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said that the world is increasingly turning to India to seek answers to its problems.

While addressing the ‘Deendayal Smriti Lecture’ on Integral Philosophy at the SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, he emphasised that the global community now expects India to offer solutions rooted in its civilisational wisdom.

Speaking at an event organised by the Ekatma Manav Darshan Anusandhan Evam Vikas Pratishthan, the RSS chief noted that Integral Humanism, propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, has completed 60 years, and remains crucial for understanding today’s complex realities. He said that in the light of Sanatan principles, it is essential to reassess the current global scenario.

He also said that world changes its ideals every 15 years but India’s Sanatan thought timeless.

He further observed that while humanity has progressed materially, several new challenges have emerged. “As many medicines have been discovered, as many new diseases have appeared. Some ailments even arise because of the medicines themselves,” he said, adding that human immunity has weakened, raising concerns about the very survival of humankind.

He highlighted widening global inequality, stating that 4% of the world’s population consumes 80% of its resources, worsening the divide between the rich and the poor. He also pointed to escalating environmental destruction and conflicts driven by narrow nationalism. “The strong fight their battles, but it is the rest of the world that suffers,” he remarked.

Earlier on Thursday, Bhagwat said that India must teach the world how to manage diversity as it lacks the systems that India possesses.

He said that making the nation prosperous and ‘Vishwa Guru’ is beyond the control of any one individual.

“Leaders, policies, parties, governments, ideas, great men and organisations like RSS can contribute to this, but … this is everyone’s job and everyone must be involved,” he said.

He said that people should not form an opinion about the RSS without experiencing it firsthand. The RSS wants to organise the entire society, he said.

“The entire society should become a Sangh, meaning everyone should live for the country with authentic, selfless devotion,” he said.

The RSS chief said that the events held to mark the completion of the Sangh’s 100-year journey are not a celebration, but rather a chance to consider the expansion of its work with an eye to the future.
