Lamine Yamal and Marta are shortlisted for the FIFA Puskas and FIFA Marta Awards, with voting open until December 3 and winners possibly announced at the World Cup draw.

Lamine Yamal was nominated on Thursday for the FIFA Puskas Award for the best men’s goal of last season, while Brazilian legend Marta was shortlisted for the FIFA Marta Award, the women’s award named after her.
Barcelona teenager Yamal’s goal came against Espanyol in May, where he delivered a signature curling left-foot shot after running across the defence from the right flank.
Marta received the ball in the centre circle, then sprinted and dribbled past two defenders, rounded the goalkeeper, and scored into an empty net while playing for Orlando Pride against Kansas City Current.
FIFA selected 11 nominees for each award, with voting divided equally between online fans and a panel of former international players.
The voting deadline is December 3. It is uncertain if FIFA will present the awards two days later at the men’s World Cup tournament draw, which will be held in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington D.C.

Nominees for the men’s award include Arsenal’s Declan Rice for his free kick against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals and Lucas Ribeiro’s solo run from the centre spot to score for Mamelodi Sundowns against Borussia Dortmund at the Club World Cup.

Ally Sentnor’s swerving shot for the United States against Colombia at the SheBelieves Cup is among the nominees for the Marta Award. Also nominated is Vivianne Miedema’s floated shot for the Netherlands against Wales at the Women’s European Championship.
