Multi-talented singer and actress Tia Bajpayee has her own identity in Bollywood and global music. Tia, who started her career with ‘Saregamapa’, has also worked in horror films like ‘1920’ and ‘Haunted’. In a special conversation, he discussed many things including his upcoming projects, global vision…

Which project are you busy with these days? What are the upcoming projects?

My most important project is an English horror film called ‘Lily Rose’. Also, a proper music album is also going to be released soon.

Will both your acting and singing be seen in these projects?

Yes, both will be seen. I sing songs in my films also. I chose horror films because the audience wanted me to do horror.

What is your global vision as a singer and songwriter?

I want my art to reach the whole world. I see myself as an artist and want people to respect my art. A good voice is a gift from God and I want this hard work to reach the whole world.

What have been the experiences and learnings of working with industry stalwarts?

The most important lesson is to maintain temperament, especially under pressure. Second, understanding one’s responsibilities on the set and getting the job done (like working in the icy water during the shooting of ‘1920’). It was a pleasure working with the co-stars, especially because of their cooperation and habit of delivering their lines on time.

Have you ever thought of focusing on either acting or singing?

No, because both are equally important to me. I have been singing since childhood but acting chose me myself. Both are forms of art. I don’t feel the need to choose between the two, just like you don’t choose between being left or right handed.

I also introduce myself only as an ‘artist’, which includes all my art forms.

How has been your journey since starting with ‘Saregamapa’?

I consider myself very lucky to have seen and done so much at such a young age. This journey has been very beautiful. There have been ups and downs but my fans have always been there for me, which is the biggest thing for me. There is struggle in every field because the competition is very high.

This industry is also a very big business, in which billions of rupees are spent. Just singing or looking good is not enough. You have to understand the audience, the look, what kind of songs to sing. All this has to be combined to form a complete package. It is also very important to understand the business story behind the scenes.

As an actress, what kind of roles do you want to do in the future?

All these years of work have made me stagnant and choosy. Now my focus is on quality, not quantity. I now want to do performance-oriented and good roles that leave a legacy, not do films just for money.

Being from Lucknow, how does it feel when you go home?

The people and neighbors of the locality are very happy. When I come, they lovingly send me something to eat. The people of the city are happy that their city girl is earning name. I feel very good with their love.

My events also get very good response there and get a lot of respect. There is a delicacy among the people of Lucknow and they are very happy to see a girl from their city at this stage. Love and pride shine in their eyes.

There is more news…
