US President Donald Trump has made serious allegations against Britain’s famous news company BBC. He said that the BBC had unfairly edited his speech on January 6, 2021, making it appear as if he was inciting people to violence.
In fact, Trump had said that day that he would go to the Capitol and encourage his lawmakers. But BBC distorted the video to make it appear as if Trump said – We will go to the Capitol and fight with full force.
This entire matter was revealed by the British newspaper The Telegraph by leaking a secret memo. It was clearly written in the memo that BBC had deliberately changed Trump’s speech. After this scandal, two of the BBC’s biggest executives, Director General Tim Davie and News Head Deborah Ternes, resigned.
Tim Davie said it was his own decision, while Deborah acknowledged that a mistake was made, but that there is no bias in the BBC. Trump wrote on social media that BBC people were dishonest and distorted his perfect speech.
He called it very bad for democracy. He says that foreign media tried to influence the American elections.
