The Indian Air Force has announced the AFCAT 2025 notification, for recruitment in the Flying Officer, Technical, and Ground Duty branches. Applications will open on November 10, 2025 and candidates will be able to register at afcat.cdac.in.

To apply, candidates will need to fill in details such as name, date of birth, and qualifications. They will also need to upload their scanned photo, signature, and marksheet. Pay the Rs 550 fee online, and print a copy of the completed form for your records.

AFCAT 01/2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: To apply for the Indian Air Force AFCAT 2025, candidates must be between 20 and 24 years old. The flying branch has no higher age limit.

Educational Qualification: Candidates need a graduation degree in any non-technical field with at least 50% marks. For technical fields, a B.Tech or BE degree with 60% marks is required.

AFCAT 01/2026 Selection Process

The selection process consists of four stages. Initially, candidates must pass an online written exam. Next, selected individuals are invited for a five-day SSB interview. This is followed by document verification and a medical examination. The medical exams are conducted only at the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Bengaluru and the Air Force Central Medical Establishment in New Delhi.

The written exam carries 300 marks with 100 questions to be answered in two hours. The subjects include General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test. Each question is worth three marks, and one mark is deducted for incorrect answers.

AFCAT 01/2026 Salary Details

The basic pay for a Flying Officer ranges from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500 per month. Upon promotion to Squadron Leader, the salary ranges from Rs 69,400 to Rs 2,07,200. A Wing Commander earns Rs 1,21,200 to Rs 2,12,400, while a Group Captain earns Rs 1,30,600 to Rs 2,15,900. Air Marshals receive up to Rs 2,25,000. The CAS (Chief of Air Staff) receives a monthly salary of Rs 2,50,000. Additional benefits include DA, HRA, flying allowance, kit maintenance, house, vehicle, medical care, and a pension.
