Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Kuala Lumpur on Monday. Jaishankar gave this information by posting on social media platform X.
He said that there were meaningful discussions between the two leaders on bilateral relations, regional and global issues. This meeting has taken place at a time when talks are going on between India and America regarding a trade agreement.
Last week, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal had said that India will not rush into any trade agreement. He refused to accept conditions that limited commercial freedom.
Goyal said, “Our vision is not short-term but long-term. Trade deals are not just a matter of the next six months, it also depends on how much we trust each other and how we will work together in the future.”

Framework of trade deal between America and China decided, decision before Trump-Jinping meeting
The framework of the trade deal between America and China has been decided. US Finance Minister Scott Besant said that both the countries have agreed on a framework agreement to avoid imposing 100% extra tariff on Chinese imports. Information related to the framework has not been revealed yet.
This decision has been taken before the meeting of Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea this week. The US had threatened to impose 100% additional tariffs on China on October 10. To avoid this, a deadline of 1 November was given to make the trade deal.
