The injured policeman has been identified as Rajveer, who was immediately admitted to the nearby Rita Hospital. His condition is said to be serious. Immediately after the accident, the former CM was taken out of the damaged Innova and made to sit in another car of the convoy. The front part of the car was damaged. As soon as the information was received, SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra spoke to Harish Rawat on phone, in which the former CM confirmed that he was completely healthy.
SSP Dr. Vipin Tada said that the collision occurred due to sudden braking of the escort vehicle.
Police took him safely to Muzaffarnagar border
After the accident, the police immediately took charge. The damaged car was parked at Toyota’s agency with the help of Partapur police. After this, former CM Harish Rawat was safely released with police escort till Muzaffarnagar border, after which he left for Dehradun.
The incident affected traffic for some time on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, but the police soon brought the situation back to normal.
