Hotels, flights, train and bus tickets can now also be booked on India’s ridesharing platform Rapido. For this, Apni has partnered with travel companies like Goibibo, RedBus and Confirm Tickets.
Rapido has integrated these companies into its app. After this, there will be no need to download different apps to book tickets. The company has taken this step to enter India’s rapidly growing online travel market.
The industry estimates that India’s travel market will reach ₹5.8 lakh crore by 2026. Rapido’s target is to take this number to 10 crore by connecting its 5 crore monthly users with this facility.
Booking from hotel to train will be available on one app.
- Flights and Hotels: Now flights and hotels can be booked directly from the Rapido app through Goibibo.
- Bus Booking: With the help of RedBus, buses going from one city to another can be booked.
- Train Ticket: Train ticket booking facility will be available through Confirmed Ticket.
Co-founder of Rapido said: Focus on tier 2-3 cities
Rapido co-founder Arvind Sanka said that his aim has always been to make travel easy and affordable. He said, “We are expanding it from everyday travel to long distance travel. Our biggest focus is to make travel easier for Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities (small and medium cities).
Rapido has 5 crore users in more than 400 cities.
Rapido currently has 50 million monthly active users in more than 400 cities. The aim of this integration is to create a single app to be used for long distance travel in India. Through this partnership, the company will give competition to companies like Grab and Gojek of South-East Asia.
