In view of the festive season, Northern Railway has banned the sale of platform tickets from October 15 to 28 to prevent crowding at 5 major railway stations. These railway stations are New Delhi, Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal and Ghaziabad. At these stations, platform tickets will not be available from ticket counters as well as from mobile apps and Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) till October 28. Northern Railway spokesperson Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the crowd during Diwali and Chhath Puja.
