Earlier in the day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its final list of candidates, taking its total number of declared candidates to 101.
Among the key contests, the BJP has fielded Satish Kumar Yadav from Raghopur against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who filed his nomination papers from the seat earlier this week, seeking a third consecutive win. The Raghopur constituency holds historical significance for the Yadav family- both Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, former chief ministers of Bihar, have previously represented it.
The party has chosen not to field any sitting Members of Parliament or Union ministers in the state polls as it focuses on local leadership and new faces.
Another NDA ally, Janata Dal (United), also released its first list of 57 candidates.
As per the release, the list of JD(U) candidates in the first phase of the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections has been approved by party’s national president Nitish Kumar.
Polling in Bihar will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
