This is the third such incident in the state, where three children have died after reportedly suffering adverse reactions to cough syrup.

Probe Report Submitted To CM Bhajanlal Sharma

A report was also submitted to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in connection with the alleged death by the consumption of the cough syrup in Rajasthan. The investigation has cleared the doctors of any wrongdoing. The report, prepared by the state’s Medical Department and submitted to the Chief Minister, stated that no doctor had prescribed the medicine in question.

According to the findings, the children were given a dextromethorphan-based syrup that families had stored at home. Officials believe this self-administered syrup, not prescribed by medical professionals, may have caused the fatalities.

The report effectively rules out medical negligence, placing responsibility on the unsafe use of over-the-counter medication.
