On the 12th day of the session, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar gave a statement in both the houses of Parliament on the latest situation in Bangladesh. He said that the neighbouring country is facing a political crisis. The Indian government is keeping an eye on the situation there.
Jaishankar further said that people are on the streets in Bangladesh. Hindus have been targeted there. This is a matter of concern. The protesters also attacked the police, after which the situation worsened. He also told that after the resignation, Sheikh Hasina had sought permission to come to India. After this, the Indian government made arrangements for her arrival.
