PM Narendra Modi has written forward (preamble) for the Indian edition of Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni’s autobiography ‘I am Georgia – My Roots, My Principal’.
This book will soon launch Rupa Publications in India. Modi praised Meloni as a ‘patriotic and the best contemporary leader’. Also described his personal and political journey as inspiring for the people of India.
Referring to his radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi described this book as Meloni’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Modi wrote that it is a ‘great honor’ for him that he is writing the preamble of this book and he is doing this work with a sense of ‘honor, praise and friendship’ towards Meloni.

Modi wrote his experiences related to world leaders
In his preamble, Modi shared his experiences related to many leaders of the world during his 11 -year tenure. He said that Meloni’s life reflects stability and the importance of being associated with roots.
He said, “While protecting someone’s cultural heritage, interacting with the world at the same level matches our values.”

Meloni has often described Modi as his good friend.
Story of Meloni becoming PM from childhood struggles
Originally published in Italy, this autobiography is an open depiction of Meloni’s personal and political life. In this, he has told about his childhood, Garbatela Mohalla of Rome, his mother Anna, sister Ariana, and grandparents Maria and Jiyani.
At the same time, the father has also described the pain of losing. The book has a story of his interest in politics, a nationalist post, Fratelli D’Italia and European Conservatives leading to the top political position of Italy.
In the book, Meloni has also written on her ex -husband Andrea Giambrono and daughter Zinavra on her perspective for relationships, maternity, belief, identity and Italy. He has shared his challenges and aspirations directly.

Meloni’s autobiography was first published in Italy by Rizzoli Publishing in 2021. Its Italian version was released as ‘IO Sono Giorgia’.
Its English translation came in 2025. In this edition, Donald Trump Jr. has written the preface.
