Mark Carney spoke to the media in London on Saturday.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters in London on Saturday that he wants to call Canada to the technology sector working in the US, who has now got into trouble due to the new H-1B visa fee of the Trump administration.

He said that the Canadian government is reviewing its migrant policy and planning to call such skilled people here. Germany, Britain and China are also planning to call skilled people from all over the world.

In fact, President Trump has issued a new order on 21 September, according to which the application fee will be charged 1 lakh dollars (about 88 lakh rupees) for the H-1B visa.

The first H-1B visa used to cost an average of 6 lakh rupees. It was valid for 3 years. It could be renewed for 3 years by paying fees again.

Expert said- America will now come to Canada

Canadian experts believe that those people who were planning to come to America via H-1B will move to Canada. Small and middle range businesses that cannot pay 1 million dollars tax can open their office in Canada.

According to Martin Basiri, CEO of Toronto firm Passage, it is like a musical cheer -game game. Where America has ended their options and now high skilled people are looking for a place to sit. Now Canada has a chance to arrange new chairs for these high skilled people.

America benefited Canada if America denied skilled people

Expert Becky Fu von Tap, an expert on immigration cases, said Canada benefits whenever the US closes the door for global talents.

Earlier in 2023, after a large-scale trim of technical staff in the US, the Canadian government launched a new work permit to invite H-1B visas. Then 10,000 applicants applied within just 48 hours, which made the quota full.

Germany invited Indian workers to come

Like Canada, Germany also wants to invite skilled people around the world. The German Ambassador to India Philip Acmanman invited Indian professionals to come to their country 3 days ago.

He said that Germany is a better and stable option for Indian talents. Ekmanman said that German’s immigration policy does not change suddenly, but it is reliable.

Ekmanman also said that Indians are counted among the highest -grossers in Germany. He said that while an average German worker earns 3,945 euros (Rs 4.13 lakh) month, Indian origin professionals earn an average of 5,359 euros (Rs 5.60 lakh).

Britain is considering zero zero

Britain is also considering abolishing visa fees for high skilled people. According to the Reuters report, the entire visa fees of those who have studied in the top 5 universities in the world or have won a big international award will be waived.

Currently, the application fee for Global Talent Visa of Britain is 766 pounds (about 90 thousand). The budget will be presented in Britain on 26 November, before that he can decide to abolish this fee.

China announced to start K Visa

China has also announced to start a new ‘K-Visa’ to call skilled people from all over the world.

According to South China Morning Post, K-Visa is for youth and skilled professionals associated with science, technology, engineering, math (Stem). It will be released from October 1, 2025.

Candidates doing research in these subjects will also be able to apply for K-Visa. The special thing is that even if there is no job offer from the Chinese company, you will be able to apply for this visa.

China currently releases 12 types of visas. R-visa or Z-visa is currently used to work in China. The validity of the Z-visa is 1 year old. Whereas there are only 180 days to stay in R-Visa. Read the full news here …

What will be the effect on Indians with a change in H-1B visa?

A change in the rules of H-1B visa will affect more than 2,00,000 Indians. In 2023, 1,91,000 people were Indians among those taking H-1B visas. This figure increased to 2,07,000 in 2024.

India’s IT/tech companies send thousands of employees to the US on H-1B every year. However, now it will be less beneficial for companies to send people to America at such a high fee.

71% of Indians are H-1B visa holders and this new fee can become a big economic burden for them. Especially mid-level and entry-level employees will be difficult to get visas. Companies can outsource jobs, which will reduce Indian professionals opportunities in the US. Read the full news here …
