Shahbaz Sharif gave a speech at the UN General Assembly on Friday.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday claimed India as enemies in the UN, claiming that Pakistan had won in the struggle with India. He said that now Pakistan wants peace.
Shahbaz said that he had appealed for a fair international inquiry into the Pahalgam attack, but India rejected the proposal and took political advantage of that tragedy.
Sharif said that he had warned from the UN platform last year that Pakistan was not going to bear any external attack. He said that his warning proved to be true. In May this year, Pakistan was attacked without provocation.
Thank you for interfering Trump
Shahbaz claimed that Pakistan supported the ceasefire despite being in a strong position during the struggle. He thanked US President Trump and said that if he did not interfere, there could have been a big war in the entire area.
Shahbaz said that by seeing Trump’s peace efforts, Pakistan has nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump averted a devastating battle in South Asia due to Trump.
Shahbaz said that Pakistan is ready to negotiate with India on disputed issues. He said that the leaders who provoke South Asia are not needed but the leaders who work wisely are needed.
Sharif said- India unilaterally stopped Indus Water Treaty
PM Shahbaz accused India of unilaterally stopping the Indus Water Treaty and said that it is not only a violation of the treaty but also a violation of international law.
He said that Pakistan has made it clear that it will protect the rights of water of 24 crore people and will consider any violation of the Indus Water Treaty as a war.
Shahbaz once again raised the issue of Kashmir and said that he is standing with Kashmiris. He said that he is sure that one day there will be a fair referendum under the United Nations law in Kashmir and Kashmiris themselves will get the right to take decisions.
Shahbaz Sharif met Trump late at night
Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir met Trump late Thursday night. The meeting between the two leaders went on for about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The meeting took place in a closed room at the White House. The media was kept away from this meeting.
