The spell of rain continues across the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of very heavy rain in 12 states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan today. Here, it has been raining in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district for the last two days. Due to this, an alert was issued on Sunday after the water level of two rivers Kharkhai and Swarnarekha increased. The danger mark of Swarnarekha’s water level is 121.50 meters, the current water level is 116.58 meters. At the same time, the danger level of Kharkhai is 129 meters and the water level is 126.83 meters.
At the same time, 6 districts in Uttar Pradesh are flooded due to rain. On Sunday, 5 people died in rain-related incidents. The districts affected by floods include Ballia, Lakhimpur Kheri, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Bijnor and Barabanki. The Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark at Kachla Bridge in Badaun.
So far 17 thousand people have been rescued in Uttarakhand. More than 10 thousand people have been rescued from the Kedarnath Yatra route. So far 17 people have died in the state, out of which 2 deaths occurred on the Kedarnath route. On Sunday also 400 passengers were airlifted to Lincholi by Chinook and MI17 helicopters.

Now the work of repairing damaged bridges, electric poles and communication lines is going on in the affected areas. So far 17 people have died, out of which 2 died on the Yatra route.
- So far, 10 thousand people have been rescued from the Kedarnath Yatra route. 400 passengers were airlifted from Kedarnath to Lincholi by Chinook and MI17 helicopters. 110 passengers sent on the Chaumasi track have reached Chaumasi safely. The number of helicopters engaged in rescue operations has been increased. 570 passengers are waiting to be airlifted at the helipad.
- The Army has started building a foot bridge on the road between Sonprayag-Gaurikund on the Kedarnath National Highway. Rescue operations are underway with the help of NDRF, SDRF and other security forces. Even now, the Kedarnath District Administration, BKTC and Tirtha Purohit Samaj are providing food and water to the people. Food packets are also being sent via helicopters.
- So far, more than 534 travellers and locals have been rescued from the Rambada Chaumasi track. Meanwhile, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has said to provide free bus service to the people. People are being transported to rest houses through buses. There is a provision for their stay and food here.
- Roads have been washed away at many places including Lincholi, Bhimbali, Ghorapadav and Rambada on the Kedarnath trekking route. According to officials, the help of two teams of sniffer dogs is being taken to search for people. The search for people is continuing in the forests.
Situation is bad in Pune, Maharashtra, rain alert for a week in Mizoram
Heavy rains have been occurring in Pune district for the last two days. Due to this, Khadakvasla, Mulshi, Pavana and other dams are overflowing. On Sunday, 35 thousand cusecs (cubic per second) of water was released from Khadakvasla dam. Many low-lying areas of Pune are in the grip of floods. Indian Army, NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed to rescue and help the people.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains in Pune and other districts today as well. People living in vulnerable areas near rivers and dams are being moved to safer places. On July 25, due to the release of water from the Khadakvasla Dam, the area along the Mutha river on Sinhagad Road was flooded.
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Mizoram for the next one week. Officials said that the state, district and village level disaster management committees have been asked to be prepared to deal with any situation. They said that extremely heavy rains are expected in most places of Mizoram on Monday.
