RailTel share price gained more than 6% in morning trade on Tuesday after the company announced multiple project wins from the State Project Director (SPD), Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). The announcements were made after market hours on Monday, boosting investor sentiment.
Details of secured projects
RailTel informed the exchanges that it has bagged three major orders from BEPC. The first order is for the procurement, supply, and installation of smart classrooms in government secondary and senior secondary schools. The project, worth Rs. 257.50 crore, is to be executed by March 31, 2026.
The second order involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of ICT labs. The contract is valued at Rs. 44.22 crore, with the same deadline of March 31, 2026.
The third order is for the supply of teaching and learning material for Classes I to V in Bihar government schools. This project is valued at Rs. 89.92 crore and must also be completed by March 31, 2026.
RailTel’s Q1FY26 performance
RailTel, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, is one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in India. In the first quarter of FY26, the company posted a 12% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs. 78 crore, supported by strong execution of existing orders. Revenue from operations stood at Rs. 510 crore, up 18% YoY, while EBITDA grew 14% to Rs. 142 crore.
The company’s robust order book, coupled with steady government project wins, is expected to provide a strong growth runway in the coming quarters.
