The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which conducts major recruitment exams like CGL, CHSL, MTS and Constable GD, has announced big reforms to modernise the exam system for millions of candidates across India.

At a press briefing, SSC Chairman Shri S. Gopalakrishnan, along with representatives from EdCIL, RailTel, C-DAC and CBSE, unveiled the new AADARSH (Advanced and Dependable Assessment & Resourceful Secured Hub) Pariksha Kendra (APK).

These centres will provide standardised, secure and computer-based exams in candidate-friendly facilities across the country. Around 8,000 seats under APK will be used in the upcoming SSC exams.

The AADARSH centres will feature ISO-certified infrastructure, air-conditioned halls, baggage areas, secured printing, AI-enabled CCTV with zero blind spots, biometric registration, a central command room, and on-site technical support—ensuring exams are smooth, safe and tamper-proof.

Other reforms include:

• Over 90% of candidates will get a centre from the three options they select.
• The remaining candidates will be allotted centres within 200 km of their homes.
• Standardised stationery at all centres.
• A new official SSC YouTube channel for updates and announcements.
• A dedicated grievance hub for faster resolution of issues, starting next exam cycle.

Speaking at the event, Gopalakrishnan said: “Every year, over 2 crore candidates appear for SSC examinations, making it one of the most important gateways to public employment for India’s youth. Our focus remains on ensuring examinations that are fair, transparent, and candidate-friendly. With initiatives like the AADARSH Pariksha Kendra, a dedicated grievance portal, we are building a more secure, accessible, and credible exam ecosystem.”

“With world-class infrastructure at AADARSH Pariksha Kendra SSC is moving towards ‘SSC 2.0’, a transformation aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, ensuring greater self-reliance and accountability in our operations,” he added.
