The meeting of INDIA alliance leaders was held before the winter session of Parliament in 2025.

Before the India Block meeting, allies have accused Congress of not supporting them. On Saturday, CPI(M) general secretary M.A. Baby wrote a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge saying that during the assembly elections, Congress continuously propagated that there was some inside deal between CPI(M) and BJP.

He said that Rahul Gandhi demanded ED action against former CM Pinarayi Vijayan during the Kerala Assembly elections, which damaged the party’s image.

On Friday, JMM also said that Congress announced the name of the candidate for Rajya Sabha seat without consulting them. Therefore they will field candidates on both the seats. Actually, voting is to be held on two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand on June 18.

At the same time, DMK has already said that it will not attend the meeting to be held on June 8. There is a dispute going on between the two parties in Tamil Nadu after Congress supported TVK.

Claim- Attempt to bring TVK together

According to reports, efforts are being made to include TVK in the meeting to be held in Delhi on June 8. In the meeting, Mamata Banerjee is also expected to raise the issue of attacks on TMC leaders in Bengal and garner support from India Bloc parties.

Mamta, Uddhav and Akhilesh can attend the meeting

According to PTI sources, former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may attend the meeting.

The meeting will discuss a joint strategy to counter the BJP-led government and strengthen opposition unity. Discussions are also possible on the recent assembly elections and changing political equations in many states.

DMK refuses to sit with Congress MPs

After the defeat in Tamil Nadu elections on May 4, Congress had announced its support to TVK. Since then there is a dispute going on between DMK and Congress.

DMK decided not to sit with Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha. MP Kanimozhi wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding change in the sitting arrangement. Kanimozhi said that it is not appropriate to sit with Congress MPs in the changing circumstances. The DMK, with 22 MPs in the Lok Sabha, is the fourth largest party in the opposition INDIA alliance.

India block was formed in 2023

The first meeting of the opposition alliance was held on 23 June 2023 in Patna. This meeting was led by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. 15 opposition parties attended the meeting. This meeting was to bring together the opposition to face the Modi government in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

India got 234 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.

INDIA has got 234 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. This includes 99 seats of Congress, 37 seats of Samajwadi Party and 29 seats of Trinamool Congress. The majority figure is 272. At the same time, Congress was leading the INDIA block in Maharashtra elections. Opposition Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) got only 45 seats out of 288. BJP alliance got 230 seats.
