In Ambernath, Thane district of Maharashtra, a man named Sudhir Omprakash Singh was fatally attacked by a gang of eight wielding sharp weapons, including swords and a sickle, in what is believed to be an old rivalry. The incident was captured on CCTV within the shop premises.
Sudhir had gone to a local automobile repair shop to fix a part of his car. It was there that the assailants cornered and attacked him.
The CCTV footage shows Sudhir running into the workshop and grabbing a piece of metal in an attempt to defend himself. However, before he could react, five armed men entered the shop one by one and began assaulting him. One attacker threw a small stool at him while the others attacked him with swords and a sickle.
Sudhir sought refuge in the corner of the shop but eventually collapsed as the attackers took turns to beat him.
After about a minute and a half of relentless assault, one of the attackers ushered the others out of the shop. They then vandalised Singh’s scooter before fleeing on motorbikes.
Sudhir sustained severe injuries to his back, arms, and legs and was admitted to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar.
A case has been registered at Ambernath West Police Station, and the police are actively searching for the gang responsible for the attack.
