Filmmaker Karan Johar often comes into limelight for his personal life. He is not married, he often shares his sorrow of being alone with people. Recently, Karan was honored with the National Award for his film ‘Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. But he says that even in this happy moment he felt lonely.

Karan Johar told in a conversation with tennis player Sania Mirza that when he got the news of getting the National Award some time ago, he felt very lonely. Because he had no one to share that happiness. Karan said, ‘You feel most lonely not during the ups and downs in your life, but during your happiness or success. Your family, friends, parents and children are there for you in your ups and downs. I have two cousin sisters with whom I am very close and who are also my best friends.
‘But what do you do in your happiness? I remember I got a call that I was getting the National Award. I hung up the phone and just kept thinking for a minute, what should I do tonight? Whose house should I go to? Whose hand should I hold? A little pat on the back, I needed happiness and that’s all I wanted.
Who did Karan Johar remember at the National Awards Ceremony?
Karan further said that when he was receiving the National Award, he missed having another person with him. He tells that he is still looking for someone, for whom he is standing with open arms like Shahrukh Khan. Karan said, ‘When I went to the award ceremony, they asked me who was my plus one and there was no one with me.’
Everyone was coming with their partners and my mother was not well enough to travel and my children were very young. These things give you a lot of trouble. I feel lonely and on many nights when I eat alone, I don’t go to my dining table. I eat food in my room only to reduce loneliness.
Talking about Karan Johar’s upcoming projects, on the occasion of Christmas, he is bringing the film ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ with Kartik Aryan, in which Ananya Pandey will also be seen.
