A group of about 2840 Sikh devotees from the country today left for Pakistan via Attari-Wagah border to celebrate Baisakhi. Along with celebrating Baisakhi, these devotees will visit the holy Gurudhams in Pakistan. He has been given a visa for 10 days. On this occasion, a group of 1763 devotees was sent by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). The group was sent off amidst cheers of “Bole So Nihaal…Sat Shri Akal”. This group is being led by SGPC member Surjit Singh Tugalwal. Applications of 32 devotees were canceled. SGPC had sent applications for 1795 visas, out of which visas were issued to 1763, while the applications of 32 devotees were canceled. This group will return to India on April 19 after visiting religious places. According to officials, this entire journey will last for 10 days. Devotees of various committees have gone to visit Gurudhams in Pakistan on Khalsa Creation Day (Baisakhi). 409 devotees from Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, 255 from Haryana Committee and 1763 from SGPC have got visas, due to which a total of 2840 devotees are going to Pakistan. Demand to open the route to Kartarpur Sahib Devotees have appealed to the governments to issue visas to more people and open the route to Kartarpur Sahib. They also demanded abolition of the $20 fee imposed by Pakistan. Disappointment was also seen among the devotees who did not get visas. Khalsa Creation Day on 14th April SGPC Secretary Kulwant Singh Mannan said that Khalsa Creation Day will be celebrated on 14th April and in this regard this group has been sent to Pakistan. He confirmed that 1795 passports were sent, out of which 32 were canceled and 1763 pilgrims were travelling.
