Trinamool Congress reacts to RG Kar Rape case verdict

Following the judgement, Trinamool Congress said, “Certain individuals have been misleading the public by raising questions about when justice will be served, citing various movements. The crime committed by Sanjay was being concealed, as there were more questions to be answered. In court, everyone had a lawyer, and their statements were heard. The CBI investigation is ongoing, and we will see what steps they take next. However, those pushing this agenda had their own personal motives.”

The case involves the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate medical trainee on August 9, whose lifeless body was discovered in a hospital seminar room.

Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer with Kolkata Police, was arrested the next day. Investigators alleged that he acted alone, but the victim’s family and junior doctors’ groups suspected a wider conspiracy.
