Trump addressed the American public on April 2, after one month of the Iran war. In his 19-minute speech, he claimed that America has destroyed Iran’s air force and they have no ability to respond.
Trump also said that America has occupied Iran’s skies. Their planes are flying over Tehran and Iran is now unable to do anything. Not only Trump, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio also made similar claims. But now the circumstances are telling a different story.
In the last 24 hours, two US military aircraft and two Blackhawk helicopters, which were engaged in search operations, became victims of Iranian attack. According to the report of news agency AP, this is the first time in more than 23 years that American fighter planes have been shot down by enemy fire. Earlier this had happened during the Iraq War in 2003.

According to CBS, the F-15E had two crew members on board. One of them has been rescued safely, while the other is still missing. Iranian government media says that this crew member, who came out via parachute, may have landed in the southern part of the country.
At the same time, 2 Blackhawk helicopters were sent for the rescue of F-15E fighter jet. He was also attacked. However, all the American soldiers present on them are said to be safe.

America is unable to understand Iran’s strategy
Experts say that America definitely has an edge in the skies over Iran, but does not have complete control. Iran’s air defense system has definitely weakened, but has not been completely destroyed.
Now the question is that despite having weak air defense, how did Iran target such advanced American aircraft?
The answer to this is Iran’s ‘asymmetric warfare’ i.e. the strategy of fighting the war in a different way. Experts believe that Majeed Air Defense System or shoulder-fired missiles could be behind the attacks on American planes and helicopters. It is believed that American planes were flying at low altitude, hence they came within the range of these missiles.
Majeed Air Defense can hit targets up to 6km distance
The Majid system began to be used by Iran around 2021. It is designed to capture targets flying at low altitude. The biggest feature of this system is that it does not depend on radar, but uses infrared technology.
Majeed does not give radar signals, so planes cannot detect it in advance. Its hitting distance is about 8 kilometers and height is up to 6 kilometers. For this reason, it is more effective in situations where enemy aircraft or drones have to come over a particular area.
It can keep an eye on multiple targets simultaneously and has 8 missiles ready simultaneously. This system is usually installed on a mobile platform, that is, it can be quickly shifted from one place to another as per the need. This makes it difficult for the enemy to find out its exact location.
Use of mobile defense system
Experts say that Iran has changed its strategy after suffering damage in the American attack. Earlier it used stationary air defense systems, but now it has adopted mobile systems.
Now many of its missile launchers are hidden in underground bases, tunnels and difficult areas. According to reports, despite continuous attacks, about half of its missile launchers are still safe.
Additionally, mobile launchers can change locations rapidly. This is called a ‘fire and move away’ strategy, making them difficult to target.
Some experts believe Iran could also use advanced missile systems like China’s HQ-9B, which has both radar and infrared technology.
