Nominations for Haryana elections ended on 12 September. 1715 candidates have filed nominations for 90 assembly seats. Nomination papers will be scrutinized today. Candidates can withdraw their nominations till 16 September. Voting will be held on 5 October and results will be declared on 8 October.

For the first time, 5 parties are contesting elections in the state. These include Congress, BJP, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Among these, JJP is contesting the elections in alliance with Azad Samaj Party (ASP) and INLD is contesting in alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Whereas Congress has given one seat to CPI (M) under INDIA Alliance.
The big faces of this election include wrestler Vinesh Phogat, former Kabaddi team captain Deepak Hooda, the country’s richest woman Savitri Jindal, Union Minister of State Rao Indrajit Singh’s daughter Aarti Rao, former CM Chaudhary Bhajanlal’s elder son Chandramohan and grandson Bhavya Bishnoi, former Chief Minister Bansi Lal’s grandson Anirudh Chaudhary and granddaughter Shruti Chaudhary, Lalu Yadav’s son-in-law Chiranjiv Rao from Rewari, Nuh violence accused Maman Khan, Chief Minister Naib Saini, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, former Home Minister Anil Vij, former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala.
