Police have registered a case against the organizers of rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh’s ‘My Story – India Chapter’ concert held at MMRDA Ground in Mumbai. He is accused of using dangerous laser lights near the airport zone despite police prohibition. This concert was organized on 28 March 2026, in which violation of safety rules has come to light. Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against ‘Tamannaaz Worldwide’ representative Inderjeet Singh. Police say that MMRDA ground is very close to Mumbai Airport, due to which there was a ban on the use of laser lights there. Despite this the promoters used high-beam laser lights. These lights can obstruct the vision of pilots, which could pose a major threat to the safety of planes. Permission of 12 thousand rupees was given and 20 thousand people reached. According to the FIR, the organizers had informed the police that about 12,000 people would participate in the program. However, the actual crowd during the concert reached between 18,000 and 20,000. Due to the gathering of more people than the capacity, it became a big challenge for the police to handle security arrangements. It took a lot of effort to control the crowd and there was a fear of the situation going out of control. A video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which a woman is trying to enter the concert by climbing over the closed gate. Many fans also tried to break the security cordon. Bombay High Court’s order and police action: The legal aspect in this matter is that in September 2024, the Bombay High Court had refused to completely ban laser lights in public places. The court had said that it cannot be banned without scientific evidence. However, the Court had given a clear direction that if the police feel that the lights are dangerous or pose a security threat, they are free to take action against the people concerned.
