Today, on 27th August, the Sensex opened with a gain of 117 points at 81,815. Nifty is also up by 10 points and is trading at 25,020.
Out of the 30 stocks on the Sensex, 22 are up and 8 are down. Out of the 50 stocks on the Nifty, 27 are up and 15 are down.
Asian markets fall
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is down by 0.14% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is down by 0.27%. China’s Shanghai Composite is down by 0.40% and Korea’s Kospi is down by 0.35%.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹483.36 crore on August 26. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth ₹1,870.22 crore.
- On August 26, the Dow Jones of the US market closed at 41,240, up 0.16%. The Nasdaq fell 0.85%, closing at 17,725. The S&P500 closed at 5,616, down 0.32%.

The market was bullish yesterday
Earlier yesterday, on 26th August, the Sensex closed at 81,698 with a gain of 611 points. Nifty also closed at 25,010 with a gain of 187 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 rose and 9 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 33 rose and 17 fell. All sectoral indices except PSU Bank and Nifty Media rose.
