On July 13, a man shot at Donald Trump and the bullet grazed his right ear.
The Secret Service, responsible for the security of former US President Donald Trump, has admitted that it had rejected Trump’s demand for increased security. According to the New York Times, the Secret Service said that Trump’s team had been demanding additional security for two years before the attack on him last week.
Last week, Donald Trump was attacked during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. 20-year-old attacker Thomas Matthew Crooks fired 8 rounds at Trump from an assault rifle.
After this attack, many people associated with the Republican Party and law enforcement have been accusing the Secret Service of rejecting Trump’s demand to increase security. Till now the agency has been rejecting such claims.
First said- demand for security was not rejected
A day after the attack on Trump, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi had called the rejection of Trump’s demand for additional security baseless. On Saturday, Guglielmi admitted that the Secret Service had rejected some of Trump’s security requests.
However, Guglielmi said that these demands have nothing to do with the attack on Trump in Pennsylvania last week. Some people associated with the Secret Service told the New York Times on the condition of anonymity that two members of Trump’s team had demanded increased security since he left the presidency.

Anthony Guglielmi is the Secret Service’s chief of communications; he has previously served as police spokesman for three states
Claim to increase security before attack in Pennsylvania
US security agencies have claimed that they had increased Trump’s security before the attack on him in Pennsylvania. The agencies claim that they had received secret information about Iran planning an attack on Trump.
In a statement to The New York Times on Saturday, Guglielmi said that the Secret Service works in a dangerous environment. In such a situation, when Secret could not provide additional security, it ensured security with the help of local agencies to protect Trump or reduced Trump’s exposure by changing its plan.

The problems of the director of the secret service increased
Guglielmi’s statement has made it clear that the Secret Service had rejected Trump’s demands for increasing security. In such a situation, after this statement, the problems of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle have increased.
Kimberly will appear before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability today regarding the lapse in Donald Trump’s security. According to the New York Times, Kimberly has been under fire since the attack on Trump. Leaders associated with the Republican Party are constantly attacking her.
Cheatle has been under increasing pressure to resign following the attack.

Kimberly Cheatle is the 27th and second female director of the Secret Service
The place of attack was not included in the security zone
The warehouse from whose roof the attacker shot at Trump was not included in the security zone by the Secret Service. This warehouse was just 400 feet away from Trump’s stage, so questions are being raised on the Secret Service regarding this as well.
According to the New York Times, questions are also being raised on the Secret Service as to why it allowed Trump to come on stage when it knew that the security agencies were looking for a suspect in the crowd. Crooks was roaming freely in the rally before the attack.
Seeing his behavior, the local authorities informed the law enforcement officials about it.
