DSP Sandipan Garg of Assam Police has been arrested on Wednesday in the case of singer Zubeen Garg’s death. Sandipan is the cousin of singer. He was together in Singapore at the time of the accident.
The reason for Sandenipan’s arrest has not been revealed yet. However, the official said that Sandipan has been questioned for the last few days in connection with Zubeen’s death.
This is the fifth arrest in the case of Zubeen’s death. Earlier, Shyamakanu Mahant, the chief organizer of the North East India Festival, Siddharth Sharma, manager of the singer and his two band members – Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amrit Prabha Mahant were arrested.
Zubeen Garg died on 19 September in Singapore. Singer went to Singapore for the North East India Festival to be held on 20 September, where he participated in the water adventure activity. It was claimed that he died in an accident during scuba diving.

SIT has registered more than 60 FIRs so far
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) said that in the case of Zubeen’s death, more than 60 FIRs have been registered against 10 people in the state so far. Special DGP Gupta said that the postmortem report done in Singapore will be given to the family as per the protocol. Singapore’s investigation team also worked. He has also contacted the family.
At the same time, the report of the second postmortem made in Guwahati is awaited. The viscera sample has been sent to the Central Forensic Lab in Delhi for detail investigation. Gupta said that after receiving the viscera report, the postmortem report will be ready and will be available to us.
During postmortem to find out the real cause of death, samples of internal organs of the body such as intestines, liver, kidney are called viscera samples.
The police officer had said that we have found some evidence against the accused. Therefore, his arrest was necessary for further investigation. According to SIT sources, in the video, Goswami appeared very close to Garg, while Amritprabha recorded the entire incident on his mobile.

Zubeen was born on 18 November 1972 in Tinsukia district of Assam. He was a singer, musician, lyricist, actor and director in Assamese and Hindi film industry. He has sung songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bangla and English.
Apart from this, Singer played more than 38 thousand songs in 40 languages and dialects including Bishnupriya Manipuri, etc., Boro, English, Golparia, Kannada, Karbi, Khasi, Malayalam, Marathi, Missing, Nepali, Oriya, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Tiwa. Zubeen was the highest paid singer of Assam.
