CM will go to Delhi to take dead body

Sarma said that he would go to Delhi himself to take the body of Zubine and from there the body will be brought to Guwahati by special aircraft. Sarma said that the body of the singer is likely to reach Assam on Sunday morning.

Zubeen went to attend the North East India Festival in Singapore two days ago. The three -day festival was scheduled to begin on Friday i.e. September 19, in which Zubeen was scheduled to perform on 20 September.

The Assam government on Saturday announced a three -day state mourning from 20 to 22 September on the death of singer Zubeen Garg. Chief Secretary Ravi Kota announced this in a post on X. There will be no official entertainment, dinner or formal ceremony during this period.

Born in Tinsukia, Assam, actor and director Zubeen was born on 18 November 1972 in Tinsukia district of Assam. He was a singer, musician, lyricist, actor and director in Assamese and Hindi film industry. He sang songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bangla and English.

Zubeen was the highest paid singer of Assam.

Zubin Garg’s younger sister Jongki Barathhakur was also a singer. He died in an accident 23 years ago at the age of 18.
