An FIR has been lodged at the Morigaon police station in Assam against Shyamkanu Mahant, organizer of North East India Festival and Siddharth Sharma, manager of Singer in the case of singer Zubeen Garg’s death.
Both are alleged to have been taken abroad on the pretext of the event, but the real purpose was to kill him. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday that the government will conduct an inquiry into Zubeen’s death.
He informed that several FIRs have been registered across the state. Therefore, DGP Harmeet Singh has been instructed to file a case by mixing all FIRs and the investigation should be handed over to CID.
In fact, on September 19, Zubeen died in Singapore at the age of 52. According to media reports, he had trouble breathing while diving scuba without a life jacket in the sea.

CM will go to Delhi to take dead body
Sarma said that he would go to Delhi himself to take the body of Zubine and from there the body will be brought to Guwahati by special aircraft. Sarma said that the body of the singer is likely to reach Assam on Sunday morning.
Zubeen went to attend the North East India Festival in Singapore two days ago. The three -day festival was scheduled to begin on Friday i.e. September 19, in which Zubeen was scheduled to perform on 20 September.
Three days state mourning in Assam
The Assam government on Saturday announced a three -day state mourning from 20 to 22 September on the death of singer Zubeen Garg. Chief Secretary Ravi Kota announced this in a post on X. There will be no official entertainment, dinner or formal ceremony during this period.
Born in Tinsukia, Assam, actor and director Zubeen was born on 18 November 1972 in Tinsukia district of Assam. He was a singer, musician, lyricist, actor and director in Assamese and Hindi film industry. He sang songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bangla and English.
Apart from this, Singer played more than 38 thousand songs in 40 languages and dialects including Bishnupriya Manipuri, etc., Boro, English, Golparia, Kannada, Karbi, Khasi, Malayalam, Marathi, Missing, Nepali, Oriya, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Tiwa. Zubeen was the highest paid singer of Assam.

Zubin Garg’s younger sister Jongki Barathhakur was also a singer. He died in an accident 23 years ago at the age of 18.
According to local media, on January 12, 2002, Jongki was going to Sutia city to participate in her brother’s cultural program in Sonitpur district of Assam. Then his car collided with the truck.
