The central government told Parliament on Wednesday that a total of 93,139 posts are vacant in the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Assam Rifles. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave this information in a written reply.

He said that the maximum number of vacancies are 28,342 in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 27,400 in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 14,531 in Border Security Force (BSF), 12,333 in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), 6,784 in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and 3,749 in Assam Rifles.

Rai said that several steps have been taken to speed up the recruitment process. These include constable recruitment every year through the Staff Selection Commission, provision of a nodal force for key ranks and use of radio frequency identification technology in physical testing.

According to the government, the number of resignations in CAPF has increased. 2,333 employees resigned in 2025 compared to 1,255 in 2021, an increase of about 86 percent. There has been a decline in the cases of suicide, mutual murder and voluntary retirement.

More than 4 lakh drivers joined Bharat Taxi

The co-operative sector’s Bharat Taxi ride-hailing service will be expanded to all major cities in the next 2 to 3 years. Minister of State for Cooperation Krishna Pal said that this service is currently operating in Delhi-NCR and Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Somnath and Dwarka in Gujarat. So far 4 lakh drivers have joined.

Gadkari said- Green Expressway will be built from Surat to Kurnool.

The government will build a green expressway from Surat to Kurnool via Nashik, Ahmednagar and Solapur. This will reduce the Delhi-Chennai distance by 320 km. Gadkari said, once the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is completed, Delhi-Mumbai travel will also be possible in about 12 hours.

  • More than one lakh pension complaints filed in 2025- The government told the Lok Sabha that 1.07 lakh pension complaints were received on the portal in 2025. The average disposal time was 19 days.
  • 31 lakh people benefited from PM Surya Ghar Yojana- The government said that under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, rooftop solar will be installed in 31.12 lakh houses by March 6, 2026. The target is to have one crore houses by 2027.
  • No data on SC/ST representation on senior posts- Separate data of SC/ST representation is not maintained at the posts of Joint Secretary and above. There is 15% SC and 7.5% ST reservation in promotion up to the initial category of Group-A.
  • Miraculous claims cannot be made in TV advertisements- The government said that all advertisements by private TV channels will be under the advertising code of the Cable TV Networks Act, 1995. Claims of miraculous properties are prohibited, violations are subject to action.
