An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Srinagar’s Jabarwan area on Sunday morning. The army had received information about the hiding of 3 terrorists. The encounter started around 9 am in the forest connecting the upper reaches of Dachigam and Nishat.
According to Kashmir Zone Police, the army and police conducted a joint search operation in the area. After this the terrorists started firing. At present the encounter is going on.
This is the second encounter between security forces and terrorists within the last 15 hours. Whereas this is the 7th encounter in the last 10 days of the month of November. A total of 8 terrorists have been killed so far.
Earlier, on the evening of 9 November, a terrorist was killed by security forces in Sopore, Baramulla. On November 8 also, two terrorists were killed by security forces. The encounter is also going on in the forests of Rampur.

- November 9-: Army killed a terrorist in Sopore: There was information about 2-3 terrorists hiding in Rampur forest. Since then, the joint search operation of the security forces is going on. Meanwhile, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. One terrorist has been killed in retaliatory firing.
- 8 November- Search operation was conducted in Sagipora and Panipora: Two terrorists were killed by security forces in Sopore. The army had conducted a search operation in Sagipora and Panipora. The encounter was going on in these areas of Sopore since the night of 7 November. There was news of 2-3 terrorists hiding here. Kashmir IGP VK Birdi had said that 2 terrorists have been killed in this operation. A huge quantity of arms and ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered from them.
- November 7- Jaish terrorists killed 2 village guards: Terrorists had killed 2 village defense guards in Adhwari area of Kishtwar. Police had told that the village defense guard who had gone to graze cattle in Munjala Dhar forest was kidnapped by the terrorists and shot at him. The deceased were identified as Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, village defense guards of Ohli-Kuntwada. On Friday, the bodies of both were found lying near a drain in Pondagwari area of Keshawan belt.
