शंकराचार्य ने बनाई ‘चतुरंगिणी सेना’, रोको-टोको और ठोको का दिया नारा; फरसा लेकर तैनात रहेंगे सदस्य

Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand has announced the formation of ‘Chaturangini Sena Sabha’ in Vidyamath Ashram of Varanasi. In this, an initial structure of 27 members has been prepared. Along with this announcement, he also gave the slogan of ‘Roko, Toko and Thoko’.

Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Said that a kind of fear has been instilled in the society, especially within the Hindu community. According to him, many times people want to protest against injustice or atrocities, but are unable to come forward due to fear. This is the psychological situation that needs to change. He said that the aim of this initiative is not to create aggression against anyone, but to strengthen the sense of self-confidence and security among the people. He said that until fear is removed from the mind, the society will not be able to stand up to protect itself. He clarified that the primary objective of the Chaturangini Sena would be to protect these symbols and to instill confidence in the society that they have an organized structure that will stand by them if needed.

10 Month Plan: Framework, Recruitment and Training

He told that at present the assembly formed with 27 members is being seen as a core group. Shankaracharya said that the detailed draft of this organization will be prepared in the next 10 months. In this, work will be done at many levels such as structure creation, membership expansion, and training arrangements. He says that this is not an immediate reaction, but a planned process. In the first phase, the structure of the organization will be strengthened, then gradually it will be brought to the ground.

Meaning of the slogan ‘Roko, Toko and Thoko’

The biggest discussion is taking place about the slogan given by him ‘Roko, Toko and Thoko’. However, Shankaracharya clarified about the word Thoko and said that it does not mean physical violence but legal action. According to him, if injustice is happening somewhere, then first it should be stopped, then efforts should be made to explain it, and finally, if necessary, action should be taken under the law.

question of weapons and self defense

The matter of giving ‘Parshu’ (axe) to the members of the assembly has also come to light. Shankaracharya said that it can also be symbolic, but if needed, it can be used for self-defense. He also added that if the government is not able to ensure the safety of citizens, then people should have the right to self-defense.

model of army structure

Citing the ancient military structure, Shankaracharya said that the idea of this ‘Chaturangini Sena’ is based on the traditional structure. Describing ‘Patti’ as the smallest unit, he said that when thousands of such units are formed, then a huge army is formed. Their aim is to reach the level of ‘Akshayvarni Sena’, which may have lakhs of members. However, this is still a far-term plan and the emphasis is on stabilizing the organization in the initial phase. Shankaracharya also openly expressed his opinion regarding the law and order of the state. He said that the situation is such that crimes are being committed even in public places and now even cow protectors are not safe.

On questions raised regarding the murder of a saint in Mathura, he said that these incidents show that there are serious flaws in the law and order. However, he denied supporting any particular political statement and said that he was not a follower of anyone. He also raised questions about the Sangh and its associated organizations. Especially on the formation of Muslim Forum, he asked why it was needed. This statement also brings out his broader ideological perspective, where he has his own distinct views on religious identity and organizational strategies. Keeping his point in global perspective, he also mentioned the events of 1971, when large-scale violence took place in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). He said that in such cases all the culprits should be identified and punished, no matter which country or organization they are associated with.
