Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir has given the country’s second largest military honor Hilal-e-Jurrat on 14 August. He has given this award to his leadership during a recent struggle with India. This medal is equal to the Mahavir Chakra of India.
This honor was given to him by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at a ceremony held on Independence Day of Pakistan. However, people on social media accused Munir of giving this honor to themselves.
While trolling, a social media user said, ‘Wah, Aseem Munir’s self-reliant Hilal-e-Jurat is the best flex! When you can give it yourself, what is the need of recognition from others? ‘
In July, Pakistan Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that this year the Independence Day of the country would be celebrated as ‘Mark-e-Haq’ (Battle of Truth).
Several officers were honored for their role in a four -day struggle with India at the ceremony. Air Force Chief Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu was awarded Hilal-e-Jurrat, Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf and many fighter pilots were awarded Sitara-e-Jurrat.
Several leaders including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khwaja Asif and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari were also honored.
