वर्ल्ड अपडेट्स: नीदरलैंड में शरणार्थियों के खिलाफ हिंसक प्रदर्शन, पुलिस ने आंसू गैस और वाटर कैनन छोड़ा, 30 गिरफ्तार

On Saturday, thousands of people in The Hague, Netherlands held violent demonstrations against the immigration policy and increasing number of refugees on Saturday. Police used tear gas and water canon to disperse the protesters.

A local government spokesman said that 30 people were arrested and two policemen were injured. The police have predicted more arrests. The demonstration took place just a month before the national election to be held on 29 October.

A total of 44,055 refugees and their family members came to the Netherlands this year. In 2024, 44% of refugees from Syria came, while about 5% of refugees from Iraq, Turkey, Erritria, and Yemen came.

The protesters, many of whom were waving flags of Dutch flags and right -wing groups, made violent clashes with the police. They threw stones and bottles. A police car was set on fire and some protesters closed a highway near the protest site for some time.

According to local media, the protesters also broke several windows at the headquarters of the Center-Left Dut Party. Dutt leader Rob Jetten wrote on X, “Goons. You cannot put a hand on political parties. If you feel that you can scare us, you are wrong. We will never let the extremist rioters take away our country.”
