A man was shot Tuesday in a shooting involving the Border Patrol near the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona. Officials said that his condition is critical.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it is investigating a shooting in Arivaca, Arizona. US Customs and Border Protection and the FBI did not immediately respond to emails and telephone calls seeking more information.
The Santa Rita Fire District said it responded to the shooting and the injured person is in custody. The fire district said the patient was quickly transported by a local medical helicopter to a regional trauma center for further care.
