The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed on the Waqf Bill will visit 5 states next week. This decision has been taken so that the committee can submit its report on time.
However, there have been several instances when the date of submission of reports of committees has been extended. But committee chairperson BJP MP Jagdambika Pal wants to submit the report within the stipulated time limit.
JPC members will interact with their Minority Affairs Department, Law Department, Minority Commission and Waqf Board in the capitals of these five states. She will also meet other stakeholders including the Bar Council and Muttawalli associations.

There was a huge uproar in the meeting on Tuesday

There was a huge uproar between the opposition MPs and the Delhi Waqf Board in the meeting held a day earlier on Tuesday. Opposition MPs had said that it is illegal to allow the Delhi Waqf Board to give a presentation without the approval of the Delhi government.
Waqf Board is under the Minority Affairs Ministry of Delhi, hence any report of Waqf Board is necessary to get approval from the government. The Waqf Board ignored this. JPC, after talking to the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha, had given permission to the Delhi Waqf Board to give the presentation without the approval of the Delhi Government.

Kalyan Banerjee himself was injured by breaking the bottle. After treatment, he was seen leaving with AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee, who broke a glass bottle at a meeting on October 22 last week, alleged that BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay had instigated him at the meeting.
Banerjee had also thrown a broken bottle towards JPC Chairman Jagdambika Pal. After this he was suspended from the meeting for a day. On Tuesday, Banerjee said that it was not my intention to throw the broken bottle at the Chairman. I am sorry that this happened.
