Lady Doctor from Ludhiana, Punjab has won Rs 3 lakh in Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). He gave correct answers to 9 questions while sitting on the hot seat with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Anesthesia doctor Pooja Malhotra told that she has been trying this for 8 years.

This time this dream was fulfilled in the 17th season of KBC. Dr. Pooja said that my aim was to reach the KBC stage more than winning money. Apart from this, I had to sit in front of Amitabh Bachchan and talk to him.

Did not leave studies even while doing hospital duty After participating in KBC, Dr. Pooja Malhotra told that she started trying to go to KBC from 2017–18. Despite family, children and hospital duties, he never stopped reading books, current affairs newspapers and GK preparation from the internet. She said that many times it seemed that it might not happen but she kept playing along every year. This increased his knowledge and also his courage. Finally in 2025 my hard work bore fruit.
First call of fastest finger first was considered fake Dr. Pooja Malhotra told that she kept participating in quizzes continuously and kept getting marks. On 16th November, a call for GK test came from Team KBC. Personal interview also took place on the same day. On 1st December, the official call came that you have been shortlisted for KBC’s Fastest Finger First. Pooja said that I confirmed the call thrice to see if it was fake. When it was confirmed, I could not believe that the dream was going to come true.
Achieved the target set by going to the set of KBC. Dr. Pooja Malhotra said that the set of KBC felt as sacred as a temple. It seemed as if all the hard work had paid off. Amitabh Bachchan was in front, this in itself is the biggest honor of life. According to her, she understood every question calmly and kept playing with logic. He played till the 9th question and won an amount of Rs 3 lakh.
When Dr. Pooja was asked how much money she wanted to win, she said – To be honest, I was more happy than the winning amount that I became a part of such a big legacy like KBC. Everyone wants to win more money but for me, reaching the stage was the biggest achievement.
