The meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held on Monday at the District Council Auditorium of Dungarpur turned into an uproar when a heated argument broke out between Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) MP Rajkumar Roat and BJP MP from Udaipur Mannalal Rawat.
The situation became so bad that the administration and security personnel had to intervene. At the very beginning of the meeting, BAP MP from Banswara Rajkumar Rot raised issues related to the state government other than the agenda.
The debate started with the agenda but soon escalated into personal allegations and counter-allegations. The situation became so tense that the administrative officials and security personnel present there had to intervene.
Controversy started because of this
In fact, BJP MP Mannalal Rawat insisted on discussing only the schemes of the Central Government in the Disha meeting held in the EDP auditorium of the Zilla Parishad. MP Rajkumar Roat, who was presiding over the meeting, raised issues related to the state government other than the agenda. Rot said that it is their right to discuss every problem related to the public.

Rot said, “I am the chairman of the meeting and here every problem of the area which is related to the public can be discussed.” Meanwhile, Roat accused Rawat of spoiling the atmosphere of the meeting. Later, a debate started between the two MPs which reached the point of ‘tu-tu, main-main’.
The controversy escalated further when Aspur MLA Umesh Damor also joined the debate. During the heated argument between the MLA and the MP, remarks like ‘come out and see’ were even made. The MLA said that if you want to fight then come out and do it openly.
After the uproar that lasted for about 15 minutes, the situation was resolved with the intervention of other public representatives and officials. After hard work, the other members and administrative officials present in the meeting pacified both the parties and only then the meeting could be resumed.
