Russia’s Health Ministry said on Tuesday that they have succeeded in making a cancer vaccine. This information was given on radio by Andrei Kaprin, director of the Radiology Medical Research Center of the Russian Health Ministry. According to Russian news agency TASS, this vaccine will be administered free of cost to Russian citizens from next year.

Director Andrei said that Russia has developed its own mRNA vaccine against cancer. This discovery of Russia is being considered as the biggest discovery of the century. Clinical trials of the vaccine have shown that it helps prevent tumor growth.

Earlier this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin had said that Russia is very close to making a cancer vaccine.

What is mRNA vaccine?

mRNA or messenger RNA is a small part of the human genetic code, which makes proteins in our cells. It can also be understood in simple language that when a virus or bacteria attacks our body, mRNA technology sends a message to our cells to make proteins to fight that virus or bacteria.

With this, our immune system gets the essential proteins it needs and antibodies are formed in our body. Its biggest advantage is that the vaccine can be made more quickly than the conventional vaccine. Along with this, the immunity of the body also gets strengthened. This cancer vaccine is the first vaccine based on mRNA technology.

Earlier, Covid-19 vaccines have been made on the basis of this technology.
