Rahul Gandhi attended the Congress program organized on Kanshi Ram Jayanti in Lucknow on Friday.
Delhi University (DU) has rejected the statement of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in which he had alleged that students are excluded through interviews in the university.
The university said that Rahul should check the facts before giving any statement. Admissions to DU are based on merit based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. Interviews are not part of the process in most courses.
Rahul Gandhi had said in the Constitution Conference program organized on the birth anniversary of Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram in Lucknow on Friday that Delhi University uses interviews to exclude students.
DU wrote- Such comments spoil the atmosphere of the university.
Delhi University posted on social media platform X that the university’s standard admission process does not include interviews for most undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Admissions are given completely on the basis of CUET score in a transparent manner.
The university said that if Rahul Gandhi’s reference was towards faculty recruitment, then thousands of teachers have been appointed in all categories in recent times. DU objected to Rahul Gandhi’s statement and said that such comments spoil the atmosphere of the university.

Rahul said that Kanshi Ramji used to talk about equality in the society. If Jawaharlal Nehru ji had been alive, Kanshi Ram ji would have been the Chief Minister of Congress. But today BJP has divided the society into 15 and 85. Only 15% are getting the benefit. 50% were separated.
During the program, Rahul Gandhi also targeted the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and said that the representation of backward classes is less in the structure of the organization. He claimed that there is no representation of OBC, Dalit or tribal communities in the list of RSS campaigners.
