Rahul is always seen in a white T-shirt, but on Thursday he reached Parliament wearing a blue shirt. Priyanka Gandhi was also seen in blue saree. Both of them tried to show their connection with Dr. Ambedkar and the Dalit community by wearing blue color.

In fact, Congress and opposition MPs allege that Home Minister Amit Shah has insulted Baba Saheb in the House. Regarding this, he protested outside the Parliament on Thursday and demanded the resignation of the Home Minister.

On his 54th birthday, Rahul Gandhi had started the ‘White T-shirt’ campaign and said that white color is a symbol of transparency, simplicity and strength for him. But on Thursday he decided to wear a blue T-shirt, which is associated with Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Dalit identity.

Political analysts believe that by wearing blue, Rahul has given the message that he is with the Dalits and will not tolerate their insult.

During the protest, Rahul reiterated many things that the country will neither forget nor tolerate the Home Minister’s derogatory remarks on Baba Saheb. Amit Shah will have to apologize.

Blue color is the symbol of Dalit politics.

The blue color acquired political significance in 1942, when Dr. Ambedkar founded the Scheduled Castes Federation and adopted the blue flag. Ashoka Chakra was engraved on this flag. Later in 1956, the Republican Party of India formed by Ambedkar also made this flag its symbol.

Over time the blue color became a symbol of Dalit identity and movement. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and other parties associated with Dalit welfare adopted it in their political campaigning. Lalji Nirmal of Ambedkar Mahasabha said in 2018, blue was Baba Saheb’s favorite color, which reflects his big vision.

Dalit activist SR Darapuri also told that in every statue of Baba Saheb, there is a blue coat, Constitution in one hand and the finger of the other hand indicating to move forward.
