Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ is going to hit the theaters in a few months. This film has been awaited for a long time. Recently, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the makers showed the first glimpse of the film. In this we saw Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram, who was highly appreciated. But the teaser also had to face some trolling.
No matter how much hate the teaser of ‘Ramayana’ has received, this film has the potential to create history at the box office. There are still six months left for the film to be released and it has already started making records. Ranbir’s Ramayan has been offered the biggest deal in Indian cinema for OTT rights.
Will Ramayana make a record before its release?
According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, the producer of Ramayana Namit Malhotra Was offered a big OTT deal for his film. It is being said that this deal was worth Rs 700 crore, in which both the parts of Ramayana were included. If this really happened, then this was the biggest OTT deal offer in the history of Indian cinema. But the producer has rejected it. But he has still not missed this record because his target for the OTT deal is even stronger.
Sources say, ‘Namit Malhotra had received an offer of Rs 700 crore for both the films. This was the biggest offer received by any Indian film till now. But he rejected it without thinking much. Since both the films will cost up to Rs 4000 crore to be made, Namit and his team believe that Ramayana is a film that will touch people for many generations to come. Therefore it should get a higher price. They are hoping to make a deal worth Rs 1000 crore with OTT players. They have to raise the remaining Rs 3000 crore through other means, which also includes releasing the film in worldwide theatres.
What is the truth of OTT deal?
Sources further say that Namit is in no hurry to sell the OTT rights of his film. He hopes that his film will help every OTT platform in global reach. His plan could also be like that of the big makers, where he would sell the rights of only one of his films to OTT.
However, no update regarding OTT rights has come from Namit or his team yet. The marketing of the film has just started. Producer Namit Malhotra is trying his best to take Ramayana to the global platform. Before releasing the teaser of Ram in India, he held its premiere in Los Angeles where Ranbir Kapoor And Nitesh Tiwari was also included.
Talking about Ramayana film, it is to be released in two parts. The first part will be released on Diwali 2026, while the second will be released on Diwali 2027. Apart from Ranbir, it also includes stars like Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey, and Sunny Deol.
