States across the country have been lashed by thunderstorms, rain and hailstorm for the last two days. Light rain occurred in many parts of Rajasthan on Monday also. After this, the temperature has dropped by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Hanumangarh dropped by 3.7°C to 26.9°C. It rained heavily in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on Monday night. Hail also fell in many areas. Trees were uprooted due to strong storm in Bijnor. Two people, including Pradhan, died when a tin shed collapsed due to the storm in Saharanpur. Here, most of the high altitude areas of Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received heavy snowfall. Gurez-Bandipora Road, Sinthan-Kishtwar Road and Mughal Road are closed due to snowfall. Srinagar-Leh highway was also closed due to accumulation of snow at Zojila Pass. The higher reaches of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand have been experiencing heavy snowfall since Sunday night. Due to this, the temple complex of Shri Badrinath Dham is completely covered with a thick sheet of snow. The temperature in Kedarnath dropped to -11°C due to snowfall. Earlier in January, the temperature in Kedarnath Dham had fallen to -16°C. Weather condition for the next 2 days: March 18 – There is a possibility of thunderstorm and hailstorm at some places in Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh. There is a possibility of thunderstorm with strong winds at the speed of 40–50 km/hr along with lightning over Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Uttarakhand. March 19- Heavy rain may occur in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. There is a possibility of thunder and hailstorm in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There is an alert of storm with speed of 50–60 km/hr at some places in Uttarakhand.
