The weather has taken a sudden turn in many parts of the country. It rained with thunderstorms late night in Ghaziabad, Hathras, Sambhal and Noida of Uttar Pradesh. Hoardings installed on the road fell due to strong storm in Mathura. Trees and electric poles were also uprooted at many places. Today, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain with thunder and lightning in 23 districts of the state. There is a possibility of hailstorm in 6 districts. Heavy rain and hailstorm have occurred in Sikar, Rajasthan for the second consecutive day. Two brothers died in Jaisalmer in an accident caused by storm and rain. Rain continues in most parts of Uttarakhand, due to which a drop in temperature has been recorded. There was snowfall in the four Dhams of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath on Thursday morning, due to which the areas around the Dhams were covered in white sheets of snow. In Himachal Pradesh, there is snowfall on the high peaks including Atal Tunnel Rohtang and rain in the plains and low-lying areas of the state since 1 pm on Thursday. After the latest snowfall, only four by four vehicles are being sent to Atal Tunnel. During the last 24 hours, the maximum rainfall was 53.0 mm in Manali and 33.0 mm in Teesa, Chamba.
