The death of 27-year-old engineer Yuvraj Mehta in Sector-150 of Noida, which is called the show-window of Uttar Pradesh, has put the government machinery and administrative insensitivity of the entire country in the dock. It took four days (about 90 hours) for the administration to rescue the car in which Yuvraj had left Gurugram for his home on Friday night. This car is not just an iron structure, but is a medal of the ‘government mismanagement’ of Uttar Pradesh, which is exposing the claims in which the oaths are taken for the safety of the public.
On Tuesday, when NDRF and SDRF teams took out a gray Grand Vitara car from the drain of death, the eyes of every person present there were moist. This is the same car on which Yuvraj had been pleading for help by lighting a torch for more than two hours. About 80 people from police, fire and relief department were present on the spot, but no one jumped into the water to save the drowning youth.
If the rescue team had come down that night, perhaps Yuvraj would have been alive today after shining torchlight and asking for help for more than two hours. The pain of the deceased’s father Rajkumar Mehta is the biggest blow to the system. He says that if the team did not have swimmers and boats then why were they sent there? Had there been swimmers in the team, perhaps they could have been saved.
The same place was in danger even 20 days before the incident.
The biggest question of this entire matter is whether this accident could have been prevented earlier? Aaj Tak’s ground report has revealed that on December 31, at the same L-shaped turn, a truck had collided with the wall of the drain amidst fog and got hanged. Then the driver’s life was saved and even at that time the administration only removed the truck with a crane, but did not make security arrangements like boulders, barricades, warning boards. If this had been done then, perhaps Yuvraj’s life could have been saved today. Now cement road blockers, barricades and ropes have been installed on that route. But this system is only up to that point, the danger remains the same at other places.
Why did DM-MP-MLA arrive after 4 days?
The shamelessness of the system was such that it took four days for Gautam Buddha Nagar DM Medha Rupam to reach the place where a promising youth was sacrificed. When the media asked him questions, he maintained silence. Same was the condition of public representatives. MP Mahesh Sharma and regional MLA Tejpal Nagar were also seen at the incident site four days later, assuring example-setting action. The question is, who made this area with flats worth Rs 2.5 crore a ‘death trap’ in the name of development?

Builder arrested, now SIT searching for answers to these questions
After the tough stance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Noida The CEO of the authority has been removed from the post. The main accused in the case and owner of MZ Wishtown, Abhay Kumar has been arrested from Palwal, Haryana. He has been sent to judicial custody for one day. The SIT formed under the leadership of ADG Bhanu Bhaskar inspected the spot. The SIT will mainly seek answers to these three questions: When 80 officers were present at the spot, why did the rescue not start for two hours? Why was that pit and drain kept open for 6 years and why were no security arrangements made even after the December 31 accident?

Eyewitness statement and allegations of police pressure
Another big thing has come to light in this case – changing the statement of eyewitness Maninder. In the initial days, he was saying in front of the media that the police, fire brigade and SDRF team did not enter the water to save Yuvraj for two hours. But later he changed his statement. Now he is saying that before his arrival the police and the rest of the rescue team were busy in their work, but due to dense fog and darkness, Yuvraj and his car were not visible. Information has been received that the police had kept him in the police station for five hours. In such a situation, the question arises whether this was an attempt to create pressure? If this has happened, then it is not only the negligence of the administration but also a question on the fairness of the investigation process.
Noida-Greater Noida administration wakes up only after death?
How prevalent is the disease of waking up only after death among government officials in Noida, Uttar Pradesh? An example of this was seen in March last year. When in a similar manner a car was taken out from inside the drain of death with a crane. Then the station master lost his life when his car fell into a three feet deep drain in P-4 sector of Greater Noida. After this death, the administration woke up and today everything from boulders to caution boards are visible at this place. Now the question is whether such deadly negligence will stop in every state of the country from UP? Or will you lose your sleep only after someone’s death?
