Israel carried out an airstrike on Saturday on Hodeida port, occupied by Houthi rebels in Yemen. News agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Houthi media reported that Israel targeted a fuel depot in the port.
After the attack, a huge fire broke out in the area. Many photos and videos have surfaced on social media, in which smoke can be seen rising. The Israeli army has also confirmed the attack on Yemen. Israel said that its warplanes have attacked the military bases of Houthi rebels.
Israeli spokesman Daniel Hagar said the attacks were in response to a drone attack by Houthi rebels on Tel Aviv on Friday (July 19). A 50-year-old Israeli was killed in a drone attack on Tel Aviv. Since October last year, Houthi rebels have fired about 200 missiles towards Israel.
